Paul LAURENT

Paul LAURENT was born on July 23rd 1860 in Clairac. He is the son of Jean Laurent, a farmer living in Roussannes, and his wife Anne Martinesque.
He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur, by decree of August 10, 1935, as mayor of Lafitte-sur-Lot (Lot-et-Garonne). When he was nominated for the Legion of Honour, he had a total of 47 years of elective office: town councillor of Lafitte since May 6, 1888, mayor of this commune from February 16, 1901 to May 18, 1935 (i.e. 34 years) and borough councillor from 1922 to 1927. His knight's cross was presented to him on December 8, 1935 in Lafitte-sur-Lot by Mr. Vautrain, doctor of medicine at Tonneins.
