Pierre, Ismaël CASSAGNE was born on September 9, 1873 in Clairac. He is the son of Pierre Cassagne, a twenty-two year old farmer from the locality of Glavy, and Antoinette Gache, his wife.
He was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by decree of December 30, 1925 as an ordinary engineer of 1st class of the Ponts et Chaussées. His knight's cross was presented to him on February 20, 1926 in Bône (department of Constantine, Algeria), by Théophile, Pierre, Baurès, chief engineer of Ponts et Chaussées.
